Burglars’ dumb move screws up robbery attempt

This one’s for the books. Joke books, that is.

“On Thursday, Jan 24, burglars attempting to break into the GPI Express Pawnshop in Barangay Greater Lagro, Quezon City bore a hole through the wrong part of the shop’s floor, tripping an alarm,” reports Reinir Padua in The Philippine Star.

When the police got to the pawnshop, the burglars were gone. In their haste, they left behind tools such as a hydraulic jack, a crowbar, as well as a flashlight.

According to Superintendent Dennis de Leon, who is the commander of Quezon City Police District Station 5, the burglars had entered a manhole in the area and crawled through the pipes. But instead of boring a hole in the floor near the vault, they emerged at a spot away from it. This activated the alarm.

In this case, we hope they NEVER learn from this mistake.
