Bureau of Immigration will make it extra-difficult for Pinoy tourists to leave PH

What fresh hell is this?

In the supposed bid to to deter the exodus of undocumented Overseas Foreign Workers (OFWs), the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has decided that “no Filipino traveling as a tourist will be allowed to leave the country unless he or she can show proof of financial capability to travel, proof of work and financial support from benefactors.”

Again: What the hell! *”BI chief Siegfred Mison said the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) assisted the bureau in the formulation of the new procedure, so he appealed to Filipino travelers for understanding as they would be inconvenienced by the new procedure aimed at protecting Filipinos from being victims of human traffickers,” reports Jun Ramirez in Manila Bulletin Online.

Mison also said, “It is easy to spot undocumented overseas workers who are posing as tourists because their itinerary are not popular tourist destinations like countries in Middle East.” He then added that “the OFWs pretending to be tourists use Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangkok, and Hong Kong as transit points to their final destinations.”

So, wait, does this mean people have to go through hell before they go to, say, Hong Kong Disneyland?
