Bureau of Customs chief resigns, cites ‘risky’ nature of his job

Considering his nickname, it’s ironic that he couldn’t stand the heat in the government agency.

“Just over a year after his appointment, Bureau of Customs Commissioner John ‘Sunny’ Sevilla resigned from his post, announcing his resignation at a press briefing on Thursday, April 23,” reports Amanda Fernandez on GMA News Online.
 
Sevilla stated, “Ginawa ko na ang makakakaya ko, sana ang sumunod sa’kin, ipagpatuloy natin, mas maayos sana. I hope he will do better than me, dahil lubhang-lubhang nasa panganib ang daang matuwid sa Customs.”

Sevilla added, “Kapag gawin mo ang tama sa Customs, may risk kang kahaharapin.”
