This sounds like a scene right out of an ABS-CBN telenovela, except it happened in real life.
Bullies preyed on a seven-year-old girl in Malabon City on Friday, which led to the victim suffering what appeared to be a heart attack, reports Joel dela Torre in Abante Tonite.
The victim, a second grader at Tanong Elementary School, is being treated at a local hospital where she is listed as critical.
Police said school bullies, who were the same age as the victim, blocked the latter’s path as she was walking home from school on Friday. The bullies forcibly took the victim’s bag and spread her things on the pavement. One of the bullies threw the victim’s bag in the air, while the others laughed at her.
A buko vendor rushed to the aid of the victim and shooed the bullies away. As the vendor gathered the victim’s things, he noticed that the girl had difficulty in breathing and later collapsed.
