The BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PF-16) is expected in Philippine waters in a month and the entire voyage from the United States will be recorded online on the ship’s own blog.
The ship, sister ship to the ex-Hamilton class US Coast Guard cutter BRP Gregorio del Pilar, also has its own Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Errol dela Cruz of the Navy Public Affairs Office will also be blogging about the voyage on his site.
The arrival of the Alcaraz is expected to boost the Navy’s capability to patrol and defend Philippine territory.
