With limited transportation options, commuters have struggled to get around the metro even more than usual since the pandemic. This is especially true in business districts such as Makati, where getting to point A to point B alone can be a challenge. Yet this bike and e-scooter sharing app is set to change things.
After starting its operations in Bonifacio Global City in 2020, Moovr has expanded its multi-point bike and e-scooter rental to Makati City, providing its daytime population of workers and professionals an alternative means to move.
To use Moovr, one should download the Moovr app on their smartphone and create an account. When logged in, the app will direct you to the nearest Moovr Hub. You can select a bicycle or e-scooter by scanning its QR code.
Riders may rent the vehicle for up to 24 hours. Moovr charges P20 for every 15 minutes for its bicycles, while e-scooters are charged P50 for every 20 minutes. E-scooters must be returned to the nearest Moovr hub once the battery reaches below 15 percent.
This development, along with the opening of pedestrian underpasses, is bringing Makati closer to realizing its vision of becoming a “15-minute city”—where everything a resident needs for work, living, or leisure, can be accessed within a 15-minute by foot or by transit.
