Citizen activist Jessie Santos, ldear of the Public Commuter Motorists Alliance, wants regular breath alcohol tests on bus drivers following routine check-ups led by MMDA, LTO and DOTC on Oct 31 in Quezon City and Pasay. Of the 10 drivers who were picked, all tested negative.
Santos wants MMDA to also include bus conductors and taxi, school bus, UV Express and jeepney drivers in random test for alcohol consumption, reports Jun Icban Legaspi of Journal Online. MMDA, he writes, says the program “could be fully implemented in the next several months.”
