The Bonifacio Monument Circle is one of the most iconic spots in Metro Manila—and Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan and the rest of the city council are pushing for its redevelopment.
“Thus, Caloocan 2nd District Rep. Edgar Erice recently presented a PHP400-million proposed project to rehabilitate the city’s iconic marker, which will turn 80 years old at the end of this month,” reports Manila Standard Today. The report likewise pointed out that Andres Bonifacio marks his 150th birth anniversary this year.
National Artist Guillermo Tolentino crafted the monument in 1933 to pay homage to the heroism of Bonifacio, who’s known as the “Father of the Philippine Revolution.”
