On Thu, Aug 20, Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was asked if open to becoming Vice President Jejomar Binay’s running mate when the latter runs for President in 2016.
Marcos answered: “I would consider anything. They call politics the art of the possible. And so you never know. You have seen unlikely alliances.”
“Binay was one of the lawyers who helped political prisoners during the Martial Law. He, together with Joker Arroyo and Rene Saguisag, founded Mabini, a movement of human rights lawyers,” reports GMA News Online.
The report noted: “Marcos, a first-term senator elected in 2010, has yet to make any announcement about running for re-election in 2016. He added that his assessment of the political terrain changes day to day.”
Then, when asked if the allegations against Binay affects how he perceives the latter as a politician, Marcos replied, “We have yet to come to the final point of all of these investigations to see exactly what’s happening in all kinds of back and forth, the accusations made, the defenses that are being put up. Hindi pa maliwanag (Nothing is clear).”
