“Senator Bong Revilla said he is not going to wait for his arrest warrant to be served and will just voluntarily go to the Sandiganbayan today, Friday, June 20,” reports ABS-CBnnews.com.
Revilla told ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kay Ganda earlier that he would leave his house in Cavite this morning and head to the Sandiganbayan. He will be accompanied by his whole family.
The report noted: “The Sandiganbayan First Division on Thursday, June 19, drafted the arrest warrants of Revilla and his co-respondents after it found probable cause for plunder and graft based on charges filed by the Office of the Ombudsman.” However the warrants have not yet been served.
Anyway, Revilla is accused of amassing P242 million from his pork barrel funds. He has denied the accusations, claiming that his signature in the pork barrel releases were forged.
The latest report says Revilla’s group left Bacoor, Cavite to head to the Sandiganbayan in Quezon City at around 8:45am.
