Has the campaign season already begun?
“Senator Bong Revilla said he is open to running for a higher position in the 2016 elections, believing that controversies in connection with the pork barrel scam have not affected his political fortunes,” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Willard Cheng on ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report pointed out that Revilla “is one of 38 people facing plunder, bribery, and malversation charges before the Office of the Ombudsman for alleged links to the PHP10 billion pork barrel scam.”
When asked if the controversy would affect his plans for 2016, Revilla answered, “Hindi (No). Why? Hindi ko ginawa yan e. Wala ako dapat ikatakot. Kaya hindi ako maapektuhan dyan (I didn’t do anything. I have nothing to fear. So, I won’t be affected).”
Revilla, however, didn’t specify what position he was eyeing. “Let’s wait and see. Kailangan nating ipagdasal yan, pero (I need to pray about that but) I’m open,” he said.
