Bong Revilla says he earned PHP40 million for teleserye work

Seriously, did GMA-7 pay him that much for Indio?

“Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. on Thursday, October 16, rejected allegations of unexplained wealth, saying that he earns a lot from his showbiz commitments including P40 million for just one teleserye,” reports Pia Gutierrez on ABS-CBNnews.com.

This was the embattled senator’s response to a report done by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), which indicated that he, his wife Cavite Representative Lani Mercado, and their children had made bank deposits amounting to to PHP87,626,587.63 from Apr 6, 2006 to Apr 28, 2010.

The AMLC had pointed out that this was the same period that pork barrel scam whistleblower Benhur Luy indicated in his ledger that Revilla received commissions or rebates from his transactions with Napoles involving his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel

The report also noted; “The AMLC said the accounts were immediately closed after the pork barrel scam was exposed to the media.”

Revilla did not deny closing the 20 bank accounts during that time. He reasoned that he did it “to financially protect his family before the government could freeze his accounts.”

He added that this “was just a normal reaction considering that he worked hard to earn the money.”

But doesn’t he get that it just makes him look suspicious?
