If they allowed detained Senator Jinggoy Estrada to attend his son’s graduation rites, then it’s very likely that a similar request will be granted.
“Detained Senator Bong Revilla has asked permission from the Sandiganbayan 1st Division to attend his daughter’s highschool graduation rites this Saturday, March 28,” reports Jeffrey Damicog in Tempo.
The motion submitted by Revilla’s lawyers read, “As a proud father, Senator Revilla would want to share this momentous occasion with his daughter for her very important educational achievement and special milestone in her life.”
The report noted: “With this, the senator, who is facing charges of plunder and graft in connection to the pork barrel scam, prayed that the graft court allow him to attend the graduation rites of his daughter, Ma. Fraznel Loudette Bautista, at the De La Salle Zobel in Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. or until the ceremony is finished.”
Revilla’s lawyers explained that “the graduation march starts at 2:30 p.m., the ceremony proper commences at 3 p.m., and ends at around 6 p.m.”
Revilla — who is detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame due to charges arising from his alleged pork barrel scam involvement — had previously been allowed to visit injured son, Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla at the Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa City.
