Bohol woman snubs drug pushers’ surrender, killed by unknown gunmen 3 days later

In the town of Clarin, Bohol, a 42-year-old woman who went by the nickname, “Madame,” reportedly refused to join a group drug peddlers who were set to surrender to the authorities.

In case you missed it, more and more drug peddlers and have surrendered for fear of the wrath of President Rodrigo Duterte, who has launched an all-out war against the illegal drug trade.

“It so happens that Madame was a suspected drug financier and user. She was actually among the top 10 drug personalities on its watchlist in Clarin. Sabejon didn’t surrender even if Barangay Bacani chair Victor Sanchez and Insp. Fernando Peroramas, chief of Clarin police, included her in  Oplan Tokhang,  a police campaign to knock on houses of drug suspects and ask them to surrender,” reports Leo Udtohan in Philippine Daily Inquirer.

But, as Police Officer 3 (PO3) Roderick Maglangit, the municipality’s police investigator, pointed out: “On Mon, Jul 8, Sabejon was heading to the Barangay Bacani proper from Sitio Lagsing on board on her motorcycle about 1 p.m. when she was chased by a motorcycle driven by an unidentified man with a back rider whose face was covered with a shirt.”

The report noted: “First, the motorcycle passenger shot Sabejon. Her motorcycle crashed and she fell on the pavement. Then, the back rider got off the motorcycle and approached Sabehon and shot her.”

The wounded Sabejon managed to get up and run towards a bus, which was unloading some passengers to ask help. However, the two men chased her and  finished her off by shooting her in the head. She slumped on the floor of the bus. The perpetrators immediately fled from the scene.”
