Retired Novaliches Bishop Teodoro Bacani, in an interview over Church-run Radyo Veritas, was asked what his advice to Budget Secretary Butch Abad would be.
Bacani said, “If he’ll ask me what he should do, I’ll tell him to resign, show that you are not power hungry anyway somebody can take your place. Secretary Abad should resign while the investigation is still pending. Both Janet Napoles and (Benhur) Luy mentioned him in their list, I don’t think the two conspired against him.”
“Bishop Bacani is also convinced that the resignation of those implicated in the scam will help restore the people’s trust in the government,” reports Leslie Ann Aquino in Tempo.
