Binay-Roxas tandem for 2016?

It remains to be seen whether proposed political bromance template would actually materialize.

However, according to Senator Nancy Binay it’s possible to forge a political partnership between her father, Vice President Jejomar Binay and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas.

“The senator is not ruling out the possibility of the vice president being adopted by the Liberal Party as presidential candidate, or him running for president with Mar Roxas as running mate, or the United Nationalist Alliance coalescing with the LP for the 2016 elections,” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Willard Cheng on ABS-CBNnews.com.

The senator was quoted as saying, “Bakit naman hindi? Noong 2010 elections, ang talagang nagbabanatan Liberal Party at Nacionalista Party. Who would have thought sa 2013 magkakaroon sila ng coalition? So in politics, lahat pwedeng mangyari (Why not? In the 2010 elections, the LP and NP were slamming each other. Who would have thought that they’d form a coalition in 2013? So, in politics, anything is possible).”

But while some things are still up in the air, the senator said the one thing that was sure is that her father is intent on running for president and is now focused on forming his own political party.

Vice President Binay had earlier claimed that he has been “receiving information that he may be an ‘adopted’ presidential candidate of the Liberal Party in the 2016 polls.”

However, LP member Senator Franklin Drilon said there have been no talks of “adopting” Binay into the party.
