What’s next for him?
At around 2pm on Fri, Jul 15, former Vice President Jejomar Binay Sr.’s arrived at the Sandiganbayan to post his bail for malversation, graft and falsification of public document charges over the PHP2.28-billion Makati City Hall II parking building anomaly.
“The Sandiganbayan had decided to consolidate Binay Sr.’s charges with the ongoing case of his son dismissed Makati mayor Junjun Binay Jr., who was earlier charged with graft and falsification of public document raps for the phases IV and V construction of the building,” reports Marc Jayson Cayabyab on Inquirer.net.
The reort noted: “For the record, Binay Sr. is charged with one count of malversation or violation of Article 217 of the Revised Penal Code, four counts of graft or violation of Section 3(e) of Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, and nine counts of falsification of public documents or violation of Article 171 of the Revised Penal Code.”
Binay Sr. paid a total of PHP376,000 bail bond for all his charges: PHP40,000 for malversation, PHP30,000 for each count of graft, and PHP24,000 for each count of falsification of public documents.
Binay Jr. was also included as a co-accused in Binay Sr.’s malversation charge and in the two counts of Binay Sr.’s graft charges.
