Senator Nancy Binay be like: ‘We have forgotten about it’

The Binay camp has issued an official statement regarding the “Dasma incident” which the Philippine Daily Inquirer ran on its front page today which alleges that Makati Mayor Junjun Binay ordered the arrest of three security guards of Dasmariñas Village in Makati after they refused to allow him to pass through a restricted gate.

On Facebook, Senator Nancy Binay posted a note: “The so-called Dasmariñas incident happened three weeks ago and we have forgotten about it. What was reported in the Inquirer had glaring biases and bends. The video does not capture what really happened.”

Meanwhile, ABS-CBNnews.com reports that “no arrests were made, and the mayor did not order any arrests. The guards volunteered to go with the police,” according to the Binay camp’s statement. The Makati mayor also denies having said the now-quotable, “Don’t you know me?” And clarifies that he in fact introduced himself and asked if his four-car convoy could pass through the gate.

The security agency that employs the guards backs Binay’s statement, “saying his guards never mentioned such an incident as happening.”

And so, the he said/she said word war begins!
