Billiards bickering leads to balisong brutality

With hotheaded players around, any game can turn deadly.

“At around 11pm on Wednesday, Mar 19, Willy Lascoña, 45, was stabbed by Norie Lago, 42, his opponent in a billiards match in Barangay Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City,” report ABS-CBN News correspondent Kori Quintos and Francis Faulve on ABS-CBNnews.com.

According to Lago, he stabbed Lascoña because he got irked by the latter’s constant teasing. He drew his balisong (butterfly knife) and plunged the blade into Lascoña the lower stomach.

Bystanders who saw Lago stab Lascoña promptly mauled the former.

Lascoña is now recovering at a hospital. Lago is facing frustrated homicide charges.
