Who do they think they are?
“The 19 high-value inmates from the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) temporarily detained at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) destroyed three surveillance cameras monitoring their movement inside their detention cells,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.
According to a source (who was not named) of The Philippine Star, one of the cameras destroyed earlier this week by the inmates is located in a room where they usually interact. The two other surveillance cameras at the NBI detention facility were destroyed months ago.
The source pointed out: “They can request to remove the cameras for their privacy. But they destroyed the monitoring equipment.”
The report noted: “The drug convicts, most of them Chinese, were transferred to the NBI last year following a raid on the national penitentiary that resulted in the seizure of expensive appliances and contraband.”
Naturally, the said inmates would prefer to be detained at the NBP.
