‘Biggest shabu laboratory’ in the Philippines uncovered at foot of Mount Arayat

Philippine police and operatives from the Drug Enforcement Agency have uncovered what they say is the biggest shabu laboratory “not only in Pampanga but in the entire country, so far.”

Take note: So far.

The discovery was made on Thu, Sep 22, at the foot of Mount Arayat in Barangay Lacquios in Pampanga.

The lab had seven large hydrogenators and a chromatograph machine among the equipment.

“Each of the hydrogenators has the capacity to yield 50 to 100 kilograms of shabu per day, as per the assessment of the crime laboratory chemists. [Meanwhile], the chromatograph machine is used for determining the purity of the finished product,” explained senior supt. Rodolfo Recomono Jr, director of the Pampanga Provincial Police Office.

An InterAksyon.com report noted that “nobody was arrested during the raid, as the occupants had eluded the raiding team, scampering in different directions beforehand.”

Police will continue the investigation in a bid to identify and eventually arrest the people behind the shabu lab.
