Marine Cpl. Nelson Lubrin, a security aide of Customs Commissioner Rufino Biazon, shot three people at a campaign caucus in Muntinlupa City Friday night. Lubrin was at the Liberal Party caucus when he figured into a fight with Nilo Marullano, Victor Marullano and Oscar Parajili, who were also aides of other LP politicians. With three men ganging up on him, Lubrin drew his .45 caliber pistol and shot at them.
According to the Philippine Star, Lubrin fled to the Philippine Marines headquarters at Fort Bonifacio immediately after the shooting. He later surrendered to the Muntinlupa police early Saturday morning accompanied by Col. Fernando Gomez. The three victims were brought to the Muntinlupa Medical Center, and later to the Asian Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.
