She did it for fun.

That was the main defense of the woman from Orani, Bataan, who posted photos of her one-year-old child naked and being seemingly led around with an improvised leash.

Her child is now under the custody of the area’s Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) office.

According to Marilyn Tigas — chief of DSWD-Bataan — the boy and his cousin were playing together when the mom thought it would be fun to put a leash on her son’s neck and take photos.

Tigas disclosed in a dzMM interview that the boy was the woman’s first child.

The child’s mother was said to have presented herself at the DSWD office in Orani, Bataan, after she got a flood of negative comments on her Facebook page.

While the boy is at a residential center for endangered children, DSWD Region 3 will conduct a series of home visits to his parents’ home.

The boy’s mother and father will be subjected to counseling sessions and will later undergo an evaluation of their parenting capability.

Referring to the mother’s atrocious behavior, Tigas was quoted as saying in Filipino, “Ang mga bata ay mga regalo sa atin at dapat bigyan ng proteksyon. Hindi dapat ang mga magulang ang gumaganyan (Children are gifts to us and should be protected. Parents should not act that way).”
