If San Miguel Beer small forward Ronald Tubid played exceptionally well last Tue, Dec 9, it was because he dedicated that partcular game to his late grandmother.

“Tubid’s beloved grandmother, Igleceria F. Gonzaga, passed away recently, and Tubid paid tribute to her with an inspired performance, playing his finest game of the conference with 18 points as he led the Beermen’s march into the semifinals as they beat Blackwater,” reports Rey Joble on InterAksyon.com.

Tubid related that his grandmother was big part of his life and that he treaures the summers he spent with her in Iloilo.

Tubid brought his grandmother to Manila for treatment last month. However, she told him that she preferred to be in Iloilo. She passed away shortly after that.

Tubid said that while he is still grieving over his grandmother, he has accepted her death. “I’ve accepted that she is gone,” he said in Filipino.
