There’s only one thing we can say to the corrupt barangay tanod: “But nga sa ‘yo!”
“On Friday night, Jan 24, Ricky Roxas of Barangay 271 was caught in an entrapment operation led by the Manila Action and Special Operations chief Senior Superintendent Bernabe Irinco on M.V. Santos street,” reports Jose Rodel Clapano in The Philippine Star.
Irinco revealed, “We conducted the entrapment operation after receiving the complaints from the fruit vendors in Binondo that Roxas has been collecting from them PHP200 for lighting, PHP100 for the barangay tanod, and PHP150 for the police every day. A big syndicate is behind Roxas’ extortion activities and is operating in the entire Manila.” It goes without saying that Roxas was collecting fees that were just figments of his greedy imagination.
Irinco said he is certain that “Roxas’ extortion activities will not thrive without the support of ranking barangay and police officials.”
Yikes, what’s up Barangay 271?
