It’s a tragic encounter that could have been prevented.
On Tue, Sep 29, a businessman in the town of Pototan, Iloilo named Francis Erad, sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. He was shot by bank security guard Nonito Decretales, who later surrendered to the police.
“Erad was about to enter the bank when he was stopped for inspection. He was then asked to take off his jacket but the victim allegedly refused. Things got heated between Decretales and Erad until the latter allegedly attempted to grab the guard’s gun. Decterales then pulled the trigger, shooting Erad in the head,” reports Jenel Baclay on ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report said that “the bank management has defended the security guard, saying bank clients must undergo frisking before they can transact inside.” The management is set to turn over the CCTV footage of the unfortunate incident incident to the police.
Decretales is now detained at the Pototan Police station.
