Bailiff fired for punching woman

A Valenzuela City police officer, who serves as a bailiff at the Hall of Justice, has been relieved of his post and placed in restrictive custody for hitting a 56-year-old woman in the face.

According to reports, Police Officer 2 Rajean Mirando has also been charged with physical injury, and will be facing administrative charges of grave misconduct.

The complainant, Sylvia Arellano, said the incident occured at the Marulas market past 8 p.m. on Monday. The policeman and his wife Tessie confronted the victim about a debt of P20,000 unpaid since 2010. After a heated exchange, Mirando allegedly lost his temper and punched the woman in the face, knocking her unconscious. 

When she came to, she decided to go to the police station and file a case against Mirando.
