A newborn baby died after falling on the bathroom floor at a townhouse in Barangay South Triangle in Quezon City . The mother, 21, gave birth prematurely and no one among the household knew she was pregnant.
According to the Philippine Star, the mother, Georgilin Lourencio, arrived at the house the day before to work as a house helper. Initial investigation revealed that Lourencio complained of a painful stomach and went to the bathroom to urinate. Fellow helper Rose Montanez said she heard the woman shouting for help. When she arrived, she found the baby already dead.
According to the mother, the baby hit the floor hard. Lourencio is still at the East Avenue Medical Center receiving medical treatment.
