The Philippines will play Indonesia in a friendly football match on August 14 in Solo, central Java. The match will be the fourth time the teams have met since 2010, and it will be the Azkals’ first game since their fans were subjected to racial slurs during the 1-0 win over Hong Kong last month.
Indonesia, who recently lost 7-0 to Arsenal and 2-0 to Liverpool, are currently preparing for their match against China in the AFC Asian Cup qualification later this year.
Philippine Football Federation general-secretary Ed Gastanes confirmed that the match will be a Fifa “A” match.
“The PFF has accepted the invite of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) for a friendly match between the A teams of Philippines and Indonesia on August 14, 2013 at Solo, Central Java, Indonesia,” he said.
Coach Michael Weiss is expected to field a mix of full internationals and U-23 players.
