It was bound to happen.
The sisters of President Benigno Aquino III, Ballsy Aquino-Cruz and Viel Aquino-Dee, had an awkward encounter with former First Lady and current Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos at the 65th birthday luncheon of Pangasinan Rep. Gina de Venecia over the weekend.
The party was held at Gloria Maris in Greenhills, San Juan City. Marcos was even almost seated at the same table as the Aquino sisters. She ended up being ushered to another table.
“A source who attended the party said the situation could have been avoided had the seat plan been observed. The source did not say who was responsible for the seating faux pas,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
According to the report, De Venecia “downplayed the situation, saying her guests come from a “rainbow coalition” and are united in their cause to protect women who are victims of rape and abuse.”
