Traffic enforcers rescued three children from a car that was illegally parked outside Commonwealth Market in Quezon City on Tuesday morning.

Two boys and a girl were left inside a red Toyota Vios with the air-conditioning turned off and the windows slightly rolled down as their mother and aunt went shopping in the wet market.

The children seemed unharmed and were all playing with electronic gadgets when the authorities came to the rescue, reports ABS-CBN News.

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) was conducting clearing operations of illegally parked vehicles in the area. They were alarmed upon seeing the children left in the unattended vehicle.

Enforcers forced the car’s door open and offered the kids water.

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reminded the public that leaving children in an unattended vehicle is a form of child abuse. It may cause dehydration and heatstroke. In Quezon City, the temperature typically varies from 27 to 33 degrees celsius.

Local officials gave the mother a warning and invited her for a discussion in their office.
