Remember the lawyer whom Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago castigated for covering his ears during the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona? Well, he’s got a new role in the new administration.
Atty. Vitaliano Aguirre II — who as served as lawyer for Senator Panfilo Lacson and as lead counsel of Hubert Webb in his murder-rape case — revealed on Wed night, May 18, that he has been picked as Department of Justice (DOJ) secretary by incoming President Rodrigo Duterte.
“Aguirre was Duterte’s classmate in San Beda College of Law. Aguirre graduated cum laude and class valedictorian in 1971,” noted ABS-CBN news.
