Attorney General’s Office of Indonesia: No clemency for Mary Jane Veloso

Based on the latest report filed by Reuters, the execution of former OFW Mary Jane Veloso will push through as scheduled on Tue, Apr 28. The report pointed out that the Attorney General’s Office of Indonesia issued a statement about the matter.

The Reuters report noted: “A Filipina who is among 9 drug-trafficking convicts on death row in Indonesia will still face execution, the country’s attorney-general told Reuters on Monday, April 27, after a last-ditch appeal by Philippines President Benigno Aquino for clemency.”

The report went on to add, “Indonesia said the execution of the 9 drug traffickers would go ahead this week, rebuffing last-minute appeals from Australia and the Philippines to spare their nationals and ignoring a decision by the Constitutional Court to hear a final challenge.”
