The dump truck fell off a roadside cliff in Sitio Lingatong, Barangay (Village) Upper Becerril at around 7am today. The children were a mix of students from the Nangka Elementary School and San Antonio Elementary school, which are both located in mountain villages.

They rode the dump truck with guardians and teachers to attend the Boljoon District Cultural Nutrition and Sports Festival in the town center. The Department of Education-organized event was set to start at around 8am.
