During the MYX Music Awards held at the Music Museum in San Juan City last Wednesday, Lea Salonga was presented a very special award: the Magna Award, which is meant for those who have contributed to shaping music not just in the Philippines but outside of it as well.
Apart from the award, the star was also honored through a special production number that involved some of today’s brightest young talents singing her hit songs: Julie Anne San Jose (“I Am But a Small Voice”), Erik Santos and K-La Rivera (“A Whole New World”), Juris and Richard Poon (“We Could Be in Love”), Nikki Gil (“Reflection”), and Christian Bautista and Rachelle Ann Go (“Sun and Moon”).
