David DiMuzio and Anna Rabtsun: These foreigners can sing OPM better than you!

Don’t you just love it when foreigners speak in Tagalog? With or without a twang, they sound so cute when saying stuff like “Mahal kita” or “Salamat” or even “P*tang ina.”

So when foreigners sing in Tagalog, now that’s really applause-inducing.

Take, for example, Russian Anna Rabtsun and American David DiMuzio, who have a cover of the classic OPM song “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko.”

Anna posted the video on her YouTube account and it has over six thousand Likes — not that many, but impressive enough.

David, who also plays the guitar in the video, starts the song. Although it’s obvious that Filipino isn;t his first language, he nevertheless does a great job singing the song.

Anna, on the other hand, nails it. She sings the second stanza and she does it so flawlessly. You won’t even know she’s not Pinay. Of course, she sounds great, too (she sounds like Sitti). And looks pretty.

Anna has some more videos in her account where she sings in Tagalog. In one video, she performs the Eraserheads’ “Alapaap” together with two family members singing and playing the guitar.

In another, she covers the Christmas classic “Pasko Na Sinta Ko” — complete with a Christmas tree in the background, of course.

She also has her own versions of Yeng Constantino’s “Salamat” and “Hawak Kamay,” Aiza Seguerra’s “Pagdating ng Panahon,” and Smokey Mountain’s “Kailan.”

Anna is married to a Filipino named Eric.
