A Toyota Hi-Ace van owned by a barangay official burned in front of Central Market in Manila on Wednesday, with authorities suspecting arson.
According to a Philippine Star report, the parked van owned by barangay councilor Ernesto Latata burned early Wednesday morning. It quotes arson investigator Lords Hernandez of the Manila Fire Department as saying it may have been set on fire intentionally.
The van was parked at the time, he said, meaning it could not have overheated and burst into flames by itself.
