Following his on-air mini-meltdown during a phone interview with Janet Lim Napoles’ lawyer Atty. Alfredo Villamor in the morning show Unang Hirit, broadcast journalist Arnold Clavio also apologized on air today, Nov 7.
He explained that Villamor was the only one they knew from Janet Lim Napoles’ legal team so they called him up. Clavio made no attempt to conceal his irritation when Villamor explained to him that he only handled Napoles’illegal detention case, which had been filed against her by pork barrel scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.
Apparently, Clavio had wanted to ask Villamor questions about Napoles’ plunder case. Napoles, as we all know, is accused of being the mastermind behind the pork barrel fund scam.
Clavio added in his apology that he only wanted to know certain facts about Napoles’ case and so he asked to be forgiven if he had said anything out of line. He didn’t address Villamor in his apology.
