Armed men hogtie family in Paco, take away P700,000 in cash, valuables

‘Tis the season to be wary, so take note of suspicious persons hanging near your house.

“The Manila Police District is hunting down six men who hogtied 11 members of a Filipino-Chinese family and ransacked their home in Paco early Tuesday,” reports Maricar Brizuela on Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Investigators said Randolph Chua opened the gate of their house on Peñafrancia Street around 7:00 a.m. to bring his grandchildren to school when a group of armed men barged into their house.

The robbers cleaned the house of valuables worth at least P700,000 and left after 10 minutes.

To keep the victims from calling for help, the robbers hogtied Chua and 10 others inside the house.

Witnesses said that about five days before the robbery, they spotted men in motorcycles in front of their house, seemingly taking note of the family’s routine.
