Investigators are looking at the possibility that Friday’s explosion at the Two Serendra condominium in Taguig City may have similarities to the Glorietta Mall blast in Makati in 2007.
Interior secretary Mar Roxas II said in a GMA News report that probers are trying to find out if there are similar circumstances between two locations, which both happen to be Ayala Land Inc properties. He added that the Bureau of Fire Protection are tracing the cause of the explosion at the high end residential area.
Eleven people were killed and hundreds were injured in an explosion at Ayala’s Glorietta 2 mall in 2007. Authorities had originally suspected a bomb had gone off but later attributed the blast to a build up of methane gas.
