Anti-poverty group expects PNoy to highlight ‘feelgood facts’

They’re definitely not the biggest fans of the President.

“Anti-poverty group Kongreso ng Pagkakaisa ng Maralitang Lungsod (KPML) expects President Noynoy Aquino to present falsified government statistics, motherhood statements and shallow reforms when he address the public at 6pm today, Monday, July 14, about the controversial Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP),” reports Mary Rose A. Hogaza in Manila Bulletin.

KPML leader Anthony Barnedo pointed out in their stament: “We expect Aquino will falsely claim and attribute the positive developments in the economy in the past four years to his DAP and his economic policies.”

Barnedo added, “Aquino has no moral ascendancy to neither accept nor reject Budget Secretary Butch Abad’s resignation, given that both of them are implementers and signatories to the illegal disbursement of public funds. More importantly, they willfully hid it from the public and used it to undermine both the legislative and judiciary branches.”
