If you’re asked to think of a color that kicks…er…posteriors, peach is not the first hue that comes to mind. But then that’s what some groups have chosen to show that they don’t agree with President Noynoy Aquino’s defense of the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP).
“In a statement, Bayan Metro Manila chairperson Raymond Palatino said the ‘Peach Ribbon to Impeach Aquino’campaign aims to draw support for Aquino’s impeachment for his involvement in controversial Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) and pork barrel scam,” reports Samuel Medenilla in Tempo.
Paltino was quoted as saying, “Every time we see a yellow ribbon, we remember how Aquino coddled big time porkers in the Cabinet, Senate and House of Representatives. It also reminds us how Aquino remained unapologetic despite the Supreme Court ruling on the unconstitutionality of the DAP.”
He added, “Instead of yellow, the appropriate color of the times is peach. Peach because we support the impeachment bid to make Aquino accountable for his growing crimes and sins to the Filipino people.”
