Another soldier injured in armory fire dies

It’s tragic that we can’t protect the men who protect us.

Army spokesman Lt. Col. Noel Detoyato confirmed that M/Sgt. Ferdinand Rafal, 51, another soldier who was injured in a blast that rocked Fort Bonifacio last week, passed away earlier this week at the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC),” reports Alexis Romero in The Philippine Star.

The report said Rafal had sustained burns on about 80 percent of his body. The first casualty of the armory fire was Cpl. Bernabe Mota, who died last May 9 at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center.

An Army officer identified as 1Lt. Dinar Alosada is still in critical condition at the EAMC burn unit.
