The numerous flight delays and cancellations over the past few days have sparked anger and frustration among stranded passengers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Some have even taken to Facebook (see above) to vent their ire. The key complaints? They said the carriers failed to provide food or water throughout the long wait for flights. And there was no information immediately forthcoming on revised flight schedule.
With anger mounting, Philippine Airlines and PAL Express apologized to passengers on Wednesday. It said the inclement weather and floods had kept many of its staff from reporting for work, especially at the airport. The carrier appealed for understanding. And even as the skies over Luzon and Metro Manila began to clear, some 15 flights were reported cancelled: 13 international flights from the national carrier, two domestic flights from PAL Express. On Tuesday, more than 160 international and domestic flights were cancelled.
