Former Maguindanao governor Andal Ampatuan Sr. — one of the primary suspects in the Maguindanao massacre case — only has three to six months to live.
“This was indicated in a medical certificate prepared by the doctor attending to Ampatuan, Dr. Jade Jamias of the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI),” reports Janvic Mateo in The Philippine Star.
“Prognosis is currently dim as pharmacotic intervention is limited. Life expectancy for such case is usually three to six months but may be shorter if the liver function will continuously and progressively deteriorate,” Jamias added.
Ampatuan was brought to the NKTI last Jun 5. Tests confirmed that he is suffering from liver cancer, which is now said to be in an advanced state.
