It’s too bad the video isn’t on YouTube yet though.
“During the ‘All In’ charity event press launch at the NBA Cafe last Friday, August 1, 11-time time NBA All Star and former NBA MVP Allen Iverson addressed the local press in a video message,” reports Alder Almo on Philstar.com.
In the video, Iverson said, “Hey, you what’s up Philippines? This is me AI… see me on a trip at the Mall of Asia Arena, be there.”
Iverson, who played for the Philadelphia 76ers, will coach a team of street ballers against a local selection at the Mall of Asia Arena on November 5.
“All In” tickets range from the highest price of PHP6,500 to the lowest at PHP600. There are also tickets at PHP4,500, PHP3,000 and PHP2,000.
The trip will mark Iverson’s second time in Manila since 1998 when he was still an emerging star with Philadelphia 76ers.
Iverson will also participate in a series of charity events, including a exhibition game that that will benefit Gawad Kalinga.
Iverson’s friend, fellow former NBA player Stephon Marbury, was also on the “All In” press launch video. In it, he said, “To the Filipino people, how ya doin‘? Miss the Philippines already. My man, A.I., ‘The Answer,’ is on his way, make sure you show him your Filipino love.”
