Alleged MRT vandal Angelo Suarez released from police detention this morning

After two nights at Quezon City Police District Station 10, poet and activist Angelo Suarez was released this morning, Aug 25.

The case against him, filed by security guard Byran Factuar, has been scheduled for further investigation by the Office of the Prosecutor in a resolution signed by Rowena Balagtas-Borge on Aug 24.

Suarez was detained on Tue night after an MRT security guard claimed to witness Villanueva vandalizing a train door with the words “MRT bulok” (MRT sucks),

“The act, which happened around 9:30 p.m., was reportedly seen by guard on duty Roseilyn Gambrajo who called the attention of the suspect who then allegedly threw the pen on the footbridge of the MRT. The security personnel was able to retrieve the item and submitted it to the police for evidence,” reports Maricar Brizuela on Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Suarez has denied the allegation.
