“On Wednesday, June 11, Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) nabbed Kair Buntos, during an operation along Bonifacio St. in Brgy. San Dionisio, Parañaque City,” reports Dennis Carcamo on Philstar.com.
According to the CIDG, “Buntos, who has a standing warrant of arrest for multiple murder and frustrated murder, has a PHP1.2-million bounty reward for his capture.”
The report said Buntos “is also believed to be a financier of the Abu Sayyaf, receiving funds from international terrorist organization Al Qaeda.”
Buntos has been on the run since 2007, when escaped detention after Abu Sayyaf members rescued him from a jail in Kidapawan, North Cotabato.
