“In his Facebook page, Albay Governor Joey Salceda claimed that Lim insulted his staff from the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) and his fellow Albayanos when he did not accept the Albay shirt and coffee table book given to him,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
Part of what Salceda wrote read: “The mere fact that coffee book table is called Warm Albay and the T-shirt has ‘Warm Albay’ printed on it should already be obvious that these are typical touristic materials. the PTCAO incident morally approximates the cruelty and brutality in Maguindanao, and what’s worse we did not pay the MILF PHP350,000 to do it and we expected something better from him since he is not a terrorist, instead an artist. No forgiveness deserved.”
The article noted: “On Twitter, Lim apologized to Salceda and the people of Albay, explaining that he refused to wear the souvenir shirt to avoid conflict with his clothing endorsement.” Lim also claimed that the story being told wasn’t quite what happened. He said he had explained respectfully to a PTCAO personnel about the shirt issue.
