A police officer undergoing aviation security training at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport over the weekend collapsed and died after running several kilometers.
According to Pilipino Star Ngayon, Police Officer 2 Rex Bragancia of the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group was undergoing an Airport Anti-Hijacking Training Course and collapsed on the third lap of a run that was part of the training.
Other trainees administered first aid and he was brought to Villamor Airbase Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Bragancia’s heart had suddenly stopped, doctor said.
Trainors had earlier asked police officers undergoing training whether they were physically fit to participate in the run.
